We are pleased to announce that Maakum Academy will open its doors in Salalah on Sunday, 3 January 2027.
Orientation and registration week: 3 to 7 January
The first week is for getting to know you. Come in, meet the teachers, see the classrooms, and ask whatever you would like to know about the courses. During this week we complete registration and carry out placement assessments, so that every student begins in the right class rather than the first one available.
You do not need an appointment during this week, although we would ask you to fill in the enrollment form beforehand if you can, so that we know to expect you.
Classes begin Sunday, 10 January
Our first term opens with Arabic and English, at beginner and intermediate levels. Classes run in small groups, and one-to-one teaching is available for students who prefer it.
French will follow in a later term. If French is what you are waiting for, tell us when you enquire and we will let you know as soon as dates are set.
Places in each group are limited, so early registration is worth your while.
What the placement assessment involves
There is nothing to revise for. Our assessment is a short, friendly conversation together with a brief written exercise, and its only purpose is to find the level where you will learn most comfortably. Complete beginners are welcome and need no assessment at all.
