About Maakum

A language centre in Salalah built on a simple idea: learning a language should open doors and expand the mind.

Our Story

Maakum was founded to give students in Salalah access to language teaching that is practical, structured, and genuinely useful. We saw too many learners finish a course able to pass a test but unable to hold a conversation, and we set out to teach the opposite way round.

Today we teach Arabic, English, and French to students of all ages and backgrounds, in small groups, one-to-one, in our classrooms, and online. Our instructors are qualified, experienced, and measured on one thing: whether their students can actually use the language.

What We Believe

Practical First

We teach language you can use the same week you learn it, not language that only works in an exam.

Taught by Specialists

Every course is led by an instructor qualified in that subject, with real classroom experience behind them.

Open to Everyone

Students of all ages, backgrounds, and starting points are welcome, and placed at the level that fits them.
